Feng Xingya, General Manager of GAC Group, said on the 3rd meeting of the Group's 20th anniversary that it will soon launch a new electric car that can last for 320 kilometers.

Feng Xingya said that in the next five years, GAC Group will take its own brand as the core to achieve three major breakthroughs in electrification, internationalization, and networking.

20 years ago, GAC Group began production and sales of 10,000 units a year, and reached 1.65 million units in 2016, becoming the first large-scale state-owned stock-holding auto enterprise group listed on the A+H shares. Since 2013, GAC Group has been listed in the Fortune 500 for four consecutive years.

The accumulated investment of GAC Group's independent research and development amounted to RMB 13 billion and established a national-level enterprise technology center supported by the Guangzhou Automobile Industry Research Institute as its core carrier and investment company R&D center.

Guangzhou Automobile's own brand "Chuan" series models, since its official listing in 2010, has sold 17,000 units and exceeded 370,000 units in 2016.

Feng Xingya said that GAC Group has been able to produce automobile engines with all independent intellectual property rights. Some key components, such as large-capacity gearboxes, are working hard.

In April this year, Guangqi Zhilian New Energy Automobile Industrial Park officially laid the foundation in Guangzhou. The total planned area of ​​the industrial park is approximately 7,500 mu (5 square kilometers). GAC Group's total investment in parks is expected to exceed 45 billion yuan. It will focus on the three areas of “smart manufacturing + innovative R&D + ecological townships”, focusing on automobile manufacturing, automotive R&D, automotive finance, automobile culture, and automobile tourism.
